What is the web browser/operating system support?

How do I download and install the Signiant App?

Do I need special permissions to install the Signiant App?
No, you do not need special permissions to install the Signiant App.
If you are installing on OS X, we do recommend you do the following:
Ensure that in Settings > Security & Privacy in Allow apps downloaded from that either Anywhere or Mac App Store and identified developers is enabled.

I have installed the Signiant App, but I occasionally see the following message "You need the Signiant App to transfer your files...". Why am I seeing this message?
This message is displayed when your webpage and the Signiant App are not communicating quickly enough. Click I have the App to continue loading your webpage.


How frequently is the Signiant App updated?
The Signiant App checks for updates (new version) every 12 hours. The update process ensures the new version is automatically downloaded and then you're prompted to install this new update.

You can also manually check for new versions of the Signiant App using the Check for update option. When an update is available you are prompted to follow the Signiant App update process. If an update is not available, the following message is displayed: The Signiant App is up to date.

What is the Signiant App update process?
Once all of your transfers have completed, the Signiant App downloads the latest version and prompts you with an update dialog. This process does not interrupt any of your transfers and if a transfer is started during the update process, the update process is paused until the transfer is complete.



After the update is installed a confirmation screen appears.

Auto Delivery General

What is Auto Delivery?
Auto Delivery is available on Share portals and enables automatic uploads and downloads of content. Your administrator must enable this option for you. If you're using Auto Delivery, you'll see the Signiant App in your tray bar or task bar.

How do I enable Auto Delivery?
After you’ve logged onto your share portal, click Automatic in your share portal view. You are prompted for the direction desired (Upload or Download) and for the folder to be used.





Do I need to do anything if my Media Shuttle or SAML password changes?

No. Auto Delivery will continue to work.

Can I use my existing email (Media Shuttle credentials) to logon and configure Auto Delivery on multiple computers?
No, to use Auto Delivery on multiple machines you need multiple valid Media Shuttle credentials. Auto Delivery is restricted to a single user, single machine, single portal and single direction.

Do I need to have my browser running for Auto Delivery to work?
No. Auto Delivery does not require a running browser.

Auto Delivery Download

Where is automatically downloaded content stored?
When you enable Auto Delivery, you are prompted to select the destination folder.

Can I specify a network volume (CIFS) or NFS path as a source or destination directory?
Yes you can specify network targets.

Can I specify a local storage path as a destination directory?
Yes you can specify local storage.

Am I forced to get an initial download of everything?
Yes, the first time a download runs, everything from your portal home folder is downloaded to your destination directory.

If old content (that I've never downloaded) is added to my home folder, will my Signiant App download it?
Yes, any content that wasn’t previously downloaded is detected by the Signiant App and then downloaded.

How can I disable Auto Delivery download?
On the computer that the Signiant App is installed, log on to the portal for which you enabled Auto Delivery and Disable the Automatic switch.

How can I tell which direction (upload or download) my Auto Delivery is enabled for?
Click the Signiant App icon and open the menu:



How can I see the progress of a transfer?

Auto Delivery Upload

When I configure Auto Delivery for upload does everything in my selected folder get uploaded?
Yes, the first time an upload runs, it uploads everything in your selected folder. This folder will now be monitored for further file changes.

If I'm offline when I add content to my monitored folder will it be uploaded when I'm back online?
Yes, as soon as the Auto Delivery client can connect to Media Shuttle it attempts to upload this content.

How can I disable Auto Delivery upload?
On the computer that the Signiant App is installed, log on to the portal for which you enabled Auto Delivery and Disable the Automatic switch.

How do I move from the old Auto Delivery application to the new Signiant App?
After running a transfer, the Signiant App automatically upgrades from the old to the new. Note: If the latest version of the Signiant App is not automatically installed, download it from Downloading and Installing the Signiant App and manually install it.
