Media Shuttle Storage Server International Character Set Support Print

In some cases your operating system may not be configured for international characters when installing Media Shuttle storage server software. If this occurs, Media Shuttle software may not be properly configured.

Linux
1. In the /usr/Signaint_Media_Shuttle/bin/tomcat/bin directory edit the setenv.sh file
2. Add the following to the end of the file:
export LC_ALL=$LANG
3. Restart your Media Shuttle services, type:
>./siginit restart

If the LANG variable is not set the above may not have any effect and you may need to set this for the operating system (Linux 7 has been reported to not set this by default).

To set the LANG to your language's UTF-8 setting, complete the steps detailed in the following article:
http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/how-to-set-locales-i18n-on-a-linux-unix/

When this is completed, the above steps should work.

Windows

1. In the C:\Program Files\Signiant Media Shuttle\bin\tomcat\bin directory create the setenv.bat file.
2. Add the following to the end of the file:
set "JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Dfile.encoding=UTF8"
3. Restart your Media Shuttle services
